We are looking for a team member who is ready to go above and beyond to make each customer experience an excellent one. If you are someone who is energetic and outgoing and enjoys working with people, this is the job for you. Our ideal candidate should be passionate about acquiring in depth knowledge about our products and biomechanical principles. With that knowledge you should feel comfortable recommending footwear and orthotics based on each customer unique foot type.

Tasks and Responsibilities/Qualifications

• Providing excellent customer service by maintaining a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining product knowledge and going above and beyond to satisfy each and every customer.
• Proven ability to meet company sales goals
• Organizational skills and keeping stockroom and sales floor clean and organized
• An outstanding personality and attitude with a desire to learn, succeed, and easily get along with others
• A willingness to perform general store operations such as receiving stock, opening/closing store, monitoring floor stock, merchandising, housekeeping, completing price changes, etc.
• Proven ability to handle all register transactions smoothly, calmly and without stress
• Maintain an awareness of promotions and advertisements on social media pages
• Represent Gentry's Footwear at community events
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and nights when needed. Gentry's Footwear does not generally operate during nights and major holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move and handle boxes of merchandise, and assist customers with putting on footwear.
• Understanding or willingness to learn biomechanics of the foot, gait analysis, etc.
• Have at least a high school diploma or GED, some college is preferred
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment
• Proven ability to develop relationships with customers and coworkers
• Knowledge and enthusiasm about the comfort footwear industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Provide honest and confident feedback to customers regarding merchandise and fit of products

Transfers

• To be considered for this job, you must have a valid drivers license and access to transportation. You will be required to drive a small amount of shoe boxes to and from the Gentry's Footwear locations twice weekly.
